In terms of a record, I’m gonna place my raw note I wrote immediately after waking up here—since I think it best captures the general vibe. I did quick post-wakeup analyses as well I’ll include. After that, I’ll discuss some sonic things in retrospect.
Pretty crazy dream 1/27/22
we’re working in this gorgeous big castle it’s like a city as like idk a random worker but nobody seems to actually have anything for me to do, then I look out to the bay and these bugs start appaearing I’m like shit we need insecticide and pierce brosnan won’t help me so I get on the radio the lady is like shit we don’t have it my friend Ryan and i are hiding in this tower of the castle and and we go outside and watch all these like weaslies fighting giant chicken and then these famous musicians are being eaten by giant chickens some have like 3 heads n shit we’re like alright we need a plan he’s got one but we gotta get out to this lady outside the castle but then I take too long in the bathroom dying my hair so he leaves and I’m like uh oh but I hear on the radio I think he may have pulled off a plan anyway. think ryan got some kinda bug juice on him at some point and I thought he was gonna die for a minute but we just rinsed him off he was good
My plan was gonna be for us to rope down the castle walls and get around the place like apparently I said I did with Maggie to escape but we had magic healing powers so we could fall really far at that point or something and ryan didn’t
Prior to this tho I was like on some kind of school trip and timothee chalemet was tryna be my friend it was like high school but it turned out to be my actual friends in disguise fucking with me and I was so pissed cuz they took it way too far and I was like boutta throw down with timothee
I think what caused all this are a few things
Watching Shang chi defs the weird animals and the bugs combined with the giant cat we were googling since matt saw one last night whatever that’s called (Savannah cat?), also the interview u watched with Liu probably hey the famous people there, idk why the weaslies prolly like the castle mixed with Ryan who has a brother idk
Just watched bond so there’s brosnan
My job ending so no work and overall a feeling of lack of busyness looming
the musicians idk general career anxiety? consumability?
its ryan’s birthday in a few days
Maggie appeared cuz well ya know
And the part of the fake friends I think that’s a larger issue ur feeling of not being fully understood by all the cishet friends u have maybe idk
The dying hair and beard thing (you looked so different in the mirror it was so weird almost like the dude from Star Wars and dune whats his face) maybe that’s like a worry ur spending so much time on ur physical self that ur gonna miss things in the world? U were covering up gray hairs maybe its an aging thing
So much crazy shit, it wasnt a scary dream tho it was honestly very mellow vibe wise I think, never too frightening mostly just like what
Sonically, in retrospect…
Honestly a lot quieter of a dream than usual—nothing particularly memorable. Walking around the like weird castle town normal street noises people saying hello etc, I believe I spoke a bit throughout, people definitely spoke to me in their normal voices. The disembodied voice on the radio idk who that was had a femme vibe, Ryan sounded like Ryan, I sounded like me I think, Pierce Brosnan sounded like Pierce Brosnan. The chickens didn’t make a ton of absurd noises but definitely some—I feel like in past dreams that gore of that would have been a lot more violent and horrifying but this time it was just not, sort of like looking at a Bosch painting rather than experiencing it (which I have in many past dreams).
I can’t recall any like droney sounds too which sometimes appear when shits about to get real like in a horror movies, almost like a score to a dream. Think overall this didn’t have the horror aesthetics that my dreams tend to morph into. Usually we start like wowow amazing and then slowly go to oh shit town but this time it was kinda like that (in that the castle was very cool up until then, even if I was a bit bored) but without the feeling of impending doom. I recently got a space heater for my room and Im wondering if by not being cold af at night im not entering like death drive dreams anymore lol idk
